This Sunday is TAB’s annual Freedom 100 Ride benefiting the Volunteers of America Bicycle Co-Op. The Co-Op started in 2007 and since that time has provided over a 150 bicycles to the residents of VOA’s Community Treatment Center and their Crossroads Transitional Housing program. Through rider donations tires, tubes, chains, water bottles and cages, tools, locks, helmets and other related items will be purchased in an effort to provide the residents of the VOA with a safe and reliable bicycle. The Community Treatment Center offers unique programs for men who have recently been released from prison, or who have been referred locally by their supervising parole or probation officer. In-house programming focuses on anger management, cognitive behavior, computer training, and parenting skills. Residents are assisted in securing employment; and many are required to participate in substance abuse education & treatment programs. Through innovative individualized case management, the VOA has helped thousands of men secure employment, re-build relationships with their families, and learn to live sober, all of which contribute to a successful re-entry into their local community. Crossroads offers case management, support services, and transitional housing for homeless individuals and families. This facility is located in Sandusky , Ohio . A free picnic lunch will be provided by the VOA after the tour. Please bring a salad and/or desert to share. Volunteers welcome!!
